ACTIVITIES IN AKYAKA GOKOVA

Akyaka provides a wide range of activities with the advantage of its nature and geography. All activities are managed by the activity center on the public beach. All instructors and guides of the center are certificated in their branches and they provide up to date equipment.

It is possible to make reservation for any activity during your stay. Mr. Muammer Tomsan the manager of the apartments will be glad to help you with this reservations.

Kiteboard
Being 3 km. long, with max 50 cm depth in 150 meters without even a small stone makes this calm sandy beach top ranked in kiteboarders' choice.
Whether you come here to join a kiteboard course or just for some relaxing sessions on your own, IKO certificated kiteboard scool provides all needed equipments and services.
For the rest of your holiday you can join many other activities that we offer with your friends or family.
Please make reservation at least 2 weeks before if you do not bring your own kite and board.

Windsurf
For windsurfers in every level Gökova Gulf is one of the best point in Turkey with its constant wind starting in the morning and getting stronger as the sun gets higher. With its 3 km long, shallow, clean and sandy coast line Gökova is a relaxing and comfortable base for beginners. As motorized water sports are forbidden in the bay it is very safe for windsurfers.
Activity center offers a full range of the latest equipment for windsurfers of all experience levels. Whether you are just starting out or at a more advanced level, the center has the equipment and lessons to suit you. Large groups are welcome and the instructors are very happy to teach children from the age of 7. Our instructor team has a wealth of experience in teaching participants of all ages, but we pride ourselves on the courses we run specifically for children.

Rock climbing
Rock climbing routes are 2 km to Akyaka with a scenery of Gökova Gulf just above the Cinar Beach. There are 7 routes in different grades that you can learn or practice rock climbing in every level.

Rafting, kayaking
Deep and green canyons, untouched nature, more than 12 rapids. For the daily tours on R2 the river is grade 3-4. The upper course where double day trips are organised the river is grade 4-5. The river is a quite technical with narrow passages and drop pool-drop pool structure. For the white-water kayakers and play boaters it is a heaven. Water is quite warm and clean most of the year. Knowing how to swim is a must on both tours. There is no need for a previous experience. If you like water do not miss this tour. You have the chance to see the mountain villages while driving up to start point.

Paragliding
There is a launching area on the summit of Sakar Hill 950 m above Akyaka. October, November April and May are the best times of thermals. There is no school or center in town that manages tandem flights.

Sailing
Based on the sheltered waters of Gokova, this is one of the most beautiful sailing areas and provides some of the Turkey's safest sailing waters.
Gokova provides 3-6 bfr wind all summer long (6 months) which starts at 10 am and ends almost at 7 pm. Whether you choose to join our course or sail along with your friend/family you will find out how waters of Gokova is full of fun and is attractive with its nature.

Trekking
April and October are the best time of the year for trekkers. There are many courses up to the Sakar Hill with an amazing view of Gokova Gulf.

Canyoning
It is time to get wet, first waterslide into the turqoise pool and you're in there... No experience is needed for this tour in Toparlar Canyon (35km to Akyaka). It is kids' favourite tour as they like to jump, jump and jump.
You'll be jumping little waterfalls and abseiling 3-4 different spots, swimming the fresh pools will make you reborn! An enjoyable canyoning trip for anyone who is keen to scramble over rocks and plunge into cool spring water.
On the hottest of days, you can escape the power of the sun when walking in the shade of pine and liquid amber trees down in deep canyon. This fun and action trip

Horse riding
Forest Park "first class Horse Club" is offering you the opportunity of horse riding as well as rlaxing near the pool side. Other activities are volleyball, badminton, dart and trekking. Our stables accommodate only first class horses like Arabians, English Full Bloods and West Fallen horses. Inexperienced riders are also able to come for horse riding as we have a closed manage where our instructors give the basics.

Boat Tours
A boat tour to Sedir Island (Cleopatra Beach) is a good option for an easy going lazy day. If you do not want to spend all day on a boat you can choose a morning trip on the creeks of Gokova Plain including breakfast on board.
